Play With Art Camp
Children learn to create fun, imaginative forms by developing clay hand building skills.
They will enjoy doing projects that introduce the use of painting, glazing,
and drawing to create beautiful finished works of art.
The camp is designed to accommodate both
beginners and experienced students and allows each person
to work at their own pace under the instructor’s guidance.

International Art Camp
Explore the colorful diversity of the world’s culture with art projects from many lands.
Media will include two and three-dimensional art, painting, crafts, cooking, and more
with interesting information about their cultural significance.
The camp is designed to accommodate both beginners and experienced students and allows
each person to work at their own pace under the instructor’s guidance.

Karma Kid Yoga

Yoga will come to life while encouraging your child’s creative spirit. 
This camp combines simple yoga poses with engaging songs, puppets and stories that exercise
social, sensory, and motor skills while increasing flexibility.
Self-respect and respect for others are a constant theme in this group-based camp.
Kids will leave class feeling empowered by the strength of their bodies and minds.
4:30p - 5:30p

Ages 6 to 12 years
$75 for one week

Kids on Stage Camp
Children will use their bodies, voices and imaginations to explore all aspects of theatre.
They will learn vocal and acting techniques, confidence, and storytelling skills.
Using a script they will perform for friends and family at the end of camp.
$210 for two weeks
Beginning June 3 - July 3
 The final performance will be the afternoon of July 3rd.
The older group will attend in the morning that day only.

Drumming
Join instructor Brian Widlowski for an ensemble percussion class featuring
Latin and Afro-Cuban rhythms. Students will learn to work as a team while creating
an authentic performance playing conga drums, serdos, and various percussion instruments.
 No experience is necessary.
Equipment is provided for those who don’t bring their own.

Drawing – Mixed Media
A creative camp designed for children who like using their imaginations to explore the world of art. They will experience a wide variety of subjects while exploring a variety of art materials.  The children will be encouraged to develop both self-expression and technical skills as they paint, draw, assemble and design their own masterpieces.

Cost: $95 for one week includes supplies,
or $152 if you take both “Mixed-Media and Comic/Cartooning."

Drawing – Comic/Cartooning
A popular class that encourages children to create their own characters to use in
a comic strip or book form.  Learn how to brainstorm ideas, and develop
fun lettering while getting inspiration from various cartoonists and illustrators’ work.

Capoeira
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form that fuses dance, music, self-defense and acrobatics.
It is  energetic, joyful and exposes children to a new language, movement and culture.
During each class children practice a basic sequence of movements,
learn to play percussion instruments, and sing in Portuguese.
Participants and their families will be invited to join in a final presentation at the end of camp.
Children should come in comfortable clothes that do not inhibit their movements.

Let’s Pretend
Young children love to pretend!
Come make props and play school, have a pretend restaurant,
be in a pretend parade and other dramatic play.
The kids will go home with lots of hand made props and ideas for more pretending.

Ages 3 ½ to 6 years
Cost: $210 for two weeks

Broadway Boot Camp

This is a wonderful fun opportunity to experience being a cast member of a Broadway Performing Troupe. Students will learn songs, choreography, and put on a musical performance.  No experience necessary.
The performance for family and friends will be held the last Friday of camp.

Creative Clay Art Camp

One of our most popular camps! Children will work with slabs of clay using hand-building techniques.
They will learn creative ways of decorating with stamps and carving tools.
They will enjoy doing projects that introduce the use of painting, glazing, and drawing to create beautiful functional art. The last day is a party with treats served in the clay creations.
The camp is designed to accommodate both beginners and experienced students and allows each person to work at their own pace under the instructor’s guidance

July 21st – August 1st 
Ages 6 to 12 years
Cost: $210 for two weeks, or

Mixed-Media Art Camp

Children will be introduced to a wide variety of materials to encourage both self-expression
and technical skills as they paint, draw, assemble, and design their works of art.
They will explore working with pen and ink, crayons, pastels, charcoal,
and more to experience a variety of media for drawing.
The camp is designed to accommodate both beginners and experienced
students and allows each child to work at their own level under the instructor’s guidance.

Think Cre@tive!
This camp for girls features five days of poetry and acting, which will not only exercise
your learner’s creative ability but also give her the tools necessary to fine-tune her dreams.
During the camp girls will have fun while building self-esteem, public speaking skills and
experiencing freedom of self-expression. These exercises don’t stop when the camp does;
they are meant to be tools your learner will be able to use for a lifetime!
The camp will end with a final performance.

Paint a Rainbow
Every child is an artist and a musician!
They are eager to try new artistic endeavors:
painting,
dancing,
and
playing instruments.
This camp will give children the opportunity to spread their creative wings
under the guidance of Magic Spark faculty members
who specialize in early childhood education.
Time is provided to experiment and play as well as to produce beautiful art.

Rock ‘n Roll Camp
Do you dream of playing in a rock n roll band?  Up and coming young musicians with
some experience on guitar, piano, bass, drums, or singers will rock it out and learn riffs
from Josh Kaler of the band “Slow Runner”.
You will meet other musicians and experience playing in a rock band.
The band will perform for friends and family the last day of camp.

Sweetgrass Basket Making Camp
The Sweetgrass Cultural Arts Festival Association (SCAFA) will operate a
Sweetgrass Basket Makers Summer Camp.
The camper will learn the sweetgrass basket making art form and its history.
Additional activities will include instruction in African American Quilt making,
field trips to the Avery African American Research Institute and other historical locations.
Campers will be exposed to a variety of activities designed to promote team building,
socialization skills, and artistic and creative growth to help improve their potential for success.
Exposure will be delivered through Storytelling & Poetry,
Gospel Songs (including Gospel Rap).
Daily exercise will be delivered via Praise Dance and African Drumming & Dance sessions.

Creative Spark Camps on Sullivan’s Island
A wide variety of arts experiences await island children this summer as Creative Spark offers
its popular summer camps at the “Fish Fry Shack” and “Island Club”.
Get together with your neighbors and make new friends as we:
paint
play games
learn magic tricks
and go on a treasure hunt.
Children will be grouped by age and should bring lunch.

Tricks and Treats at Trident Academy
Afternoons of art, drama, circus skills and magic tricks with Creative Spark’s faculty
and visiting artists including:
the Fettuccini Brothers jugglers, John Tudor teaching magic tricks and more.
This outreach program is open to the public and will take place at:
Trident Academy, 1455 Wakendaw Rd. off Whipple Rd., in Mt. Pleasant.

Birthday Parties
Have a creative birthday at Creative Spark!
Our team of artists will plan a spectacular party for children ages 3 to 12.
Parties include two art projects, cake, and drinks, paper goods, a gift for the birthday child,
a piñata full of party favors and clean up.
Guaranteed to be fun for the children and easy for the parents.
Parties are 90 minutes starting at 11:00am or 1:00pm on Saturdays.
Cost: $175 for 12 children,
$10 for each additional child

Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts
Your troop can earn badges by participating in a educational clay outing at Creative Spark clay studio.
The troop will learn about the different types of clay, glazes, and firing.
They will work with slab clay to form fun functional works of art.
Groups are limited to 15.

Cost: $15 per scout for a 1-½ hours.

BANQUET HALL RENTAL
Looking for a  private setting to hold parties, weddings, dances, recitals or meetings.
Creative Spark offers a spacious banquet hall with a professional dance floor and sound system.
Guests can walk out from the banquet hall onto the covered patio that provides additional space.
Your guests will have a short walk from the well-lighted parking lot.
Available weekends and includes use of the kitchen, tables, and chairs.
Fee:  $500 – a $100 refundable security deposit is required.

CAMP ENROLLMENT and DISCOUNT INFORMATION
You may enroll at any time by calling the office at (843) 881-3780 and using your credit card or filling out an enrollment form and mailing it to us. If you enroll in more than one session of camp or enroll more than one child in a session you will receive a 20% discount on the total enrollment fee.
There is a
$50
non-refundable deposit required to hold a space in any camp.
They fill up fast!
